Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle are “among the English sides” interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka, according to talkSPORT.
The radio station claims that the 18-year-old has been made available for £20m this summer, with the player having refused to sign a contract extension.
Chukwuemeka has less than a year remaining on his current deal, and there is a risk that the teenager could move abroad for minimal compensation at the end of the season.
Villa are trying to move the midfielder on before that can happen, though, and there is a lot of interest in the youngster, who was named in UEFA’s team of the tournament after England won the European Under 19 Championships.
Other sources have credited Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal with an interest in Chukwuemeka, while Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also keen, so City may have their work cut out if they are to sign the player.
