Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal are all keeping tabs on Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 22-year-old only recently signed a new three-year contract with the Serie A champions but the Italian club’s financial problems mean he could still be available this summer.

Bastoni is a left-footed center-half, equally capable of playing in a back three or back four, and his adaptability would make him a good fit for Pep Guardiola’s style of play.

An approach is only likely to happen, though, if Aymeric Laporte is sold. The Spaniard is believed to be angling for a move away from the Etihad but there are not many clubs who could match City’s asking price.

Even so, it does appear that Bastoni is on the club’s radar. The Italian played just one match at the European Championships but, with both Leonardo Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini nearing the end of their careers, he is likely to get many more than the six international caps he currently possesses.
