Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker could still be included in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup, according to reports.
The 32-year-old underwent surgery on a groin injury a couple of weeks ago but there is now growing optimism that he will be back available ahead of the tournament in Qatar.
However, supporters on Twitter are worried that Walker will be rushed back and re-injure himself whilst away on international duty:
Just to get injured again in the group stages no doubt. Coming back too soon my guy.

For many players, their ultimate goal is to play in the World Cup so, even though some City fans won’t understand why he is so desperate to be selected, you can guarantee that Walker will be doing everything he can to prove his fitness.
Whether he will make the squad, we shall have to wait and see, but it will be hoped that he doesn’t cut any corners in his recovery that could lead to him being sidelined for even longer.
