De Bruyne Praises “Insane” International Teammate Who Could Be Lining Up Alongside Him At City Next Season

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has lavished praise on his Belgian teammate Romelu Lukaku for his finishing ability.

It has been reported that Lukaku has been added to City’s list of targets to replace Sergio Aguero, and De Bruyne claims the former Manchester United player deserves more credit considering the number of goals he scores:

“People give Rom a lot of stick and he is a victim on social media, but Lukaku is a striker who will score 20 to 25 goals for Man United – and any other club. His goal ratio is insane. He belongs to the best strikers in the world.”

Along with City, Chelsea are also said to be interested in Lukaku but it is not believed that either team see the 28-year-old as their number one priority this summer.

Whilst Chelsea are thought to be devoting their efforts to snap up Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund, the Citizens remain committed to signing Harry Kane from Tottenham.

If the Manchester club’s attempts to secure Kane’s signature fail, though, they may well turn their attention back to Lukaku. If that does happen, De Bruyne will undoubtedly be delighted considering their friendship and the fact that the pair have stuck up a good understanding when playing for their national team.
