‘Dodged A Bullet There’ ‘There Goes My Dream’ City Fans React As Guardiola Shoots Down Wild Transfer Rumour

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has rubbished reports linking Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar with a move to the Etihad this summer

It had been suggested by the French newspaper Le Parisien that the Brazilian international had been offered to the Premier League champions but, when asked about the claims, Guardiola was quick to deny the story:

“I’m sorry for Le Parisien but it’s not true. Their information is not right, Neymar is an incredible player and the information I have he’s an incredibly nice guy. But it’s not right. Every summer Manchester City are going to buy 150 players.”

There has been a mixed reaction to Guardiola’s comments, with some supporters glad that Neymar won’t be joining City, while others were somewhat disappointed:

Neymar’s situation is quite a strange one. He wants to stay at PSG, while his new manager Christophe Galtier also would like to keep him at the Parc des Princes.

However, the club’s new sporting director Luis Campos has reportedly been trying to offload him, with Chelsea, Manchester United and now City all having been mentioned as possible suitors. Guardiola’s remarks should, though, quash speculation about a potential switch to Manchester once and for all.
