Fans react to Man City starting line-up vs Leicester

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named his starting line-up for this afternoon’s clash with Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, opting to name the same side for the third game in succession.

City will be going in search of a third successive victory this afternoon after recording back-to-back 5-0 wins over Norwich City and Arsenal prior to the international break.

Guardiola, who watched his side lose 1-0 to Leicester last month in the FA Community Shield at Wembley, has opted to stick with the same side that hammered the Gunners last time out, meaning City will be looking to pick up where they left off and record their first away win of the season.

Goalkeeper Ederson and attacker Gabriel Jesus have both been included after City received the green light to include them both by FIFA late on Friday night, following a period of uncertainty about whether or not Brazilian players would be allowed to play in the Premier League this weekend after not being released for international duty.

Elsewhere, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden have made the substitutes bench.

As expected, City are poised to stick with the 4-3-3 system that dismantled Norwich and Arsenal so easily, meaning Guardiola will be hoping for similar rewards, even though Leicester are likely to prove to be a much tougher nut to crack.

Unsurprisingly, it is Guardiola’s decision to be able to include the in-form Jesus in the side that has attracted the most attention

Below, MEN Sport has taken a look at what some City fans have had to say on social media in response to Guardiola’s selection choice.

As you can see from the messages displayed above, Guardiola’s ability to include Jesus in the side has attracted plenty of attention, as have De Bruyne’s and Foden’s returns to the squad.
