Manchester City are closing in on a deal to sign Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, according to reports in the English media.
The 25-year-old has been a transfer target for the Citizens all summer, and despite recent claims that the likes of Chelsea could hijack the deal, Pep Guardiola’s side have always been heavy favourites for the England international.

It must be pointed that just because a transfer is at an advanced stage, it doesn’t necessarily mean that a deal is inevitable. A lot could still go wrong and there may be a few more twists and turns before an agreement is reached on the transfer fee and other details.
Even so, it does seem as though City are now much closer than they have been to getting one of their two marquee signings in through the door this summer.
