Manchester City have included new signing Jack Grealish and youngster Romeo Lavia in their squad for the Champions League group stages.
The Blues have had to submit a list of players to UEFA following the end of the transfer window in Europe ahead of the start of the Champions League groups, with RB Leipzig visiting the Etihad on September 15.
List A, as it is categorised, includes up to 25 players with no more than 17 that do not count as ‘locally trained players’. Pep Guardiola will be able to call on these players for all six group games, and has chosen to include promising midfielder Lavia in his selection as well as £100m arrival Grealish.
City can also register players on List B as later as the night before each match as long as those players are born on or after January 1, 2000 and have been available to play for the club for an uninterrupted period of two years since their 15th birthday. Lavia is not eligible for this list, having only joined City in 2020.
Phil Foden still qualifies for this list despite first appearing in the competition almost four years ago, meaning there should be no alarm that he does not feature in this initial list. For the first time since joining the academy, striker Liam Delap is also eligible to be on List B to give Guardiola another option up front in the congested schedule.
City List A: Ederson, Steffen, Carson, Walker, Cancelo, Dias, Laporte, Stones, Ake, Zinchenko, Rodri, Fernandinho, Lavia, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Grealish, Jesus, Mahrez, Bernardo, Sterling, Jesus
