Barcelona have been in contact with the representatives of Manchester City winger Riyad Mahrez over the past few weeks, according to reports in the French media.
The Catalan club are looking at possible replacements for Ousmane Dembele and they have identified the Algerian international as a potential option due to his contract situation.
Mahrez will have just one year remaining on his current deal at the Etihad this summer and, so far, there has been no indication that the player will be handed an extension.
Barca have also been in talks with the agent of Leeds winger Raphinha, but the Brazilian has a €75m (£62.5m) release clause and they are keeping Mahrez’s name in mind if they choose to switch targets.
The La Liga club are not the only team interested in the 31-year-old, though, with it being claimed that Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea have also been keeping an eye on him in recent months.
