Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Kyle Walker is still unavailable for selection as he continues his recovery from groin surgery.

The 32-year-old has been named in England’s squad for the World Cup but he remains on the treatment table. Erling Haaland is a doubt (foot) for the Brentford game but Joao Cancelo is in contention to play, after serving his one-match suspension for his sending-off against Fulham.

Manchester City’s Predicted XI To Play Brentford:

Ederson, Stones, Akanji, Ake, Cancelo, De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva, Foden, Alvarez, Grealish

Bees boss Thomas Frank has seven players sidelined with injury. Kristoffer Ajer (knee), Pontus Jansson (hamstring), Aaron Hickey (ankle), Shandon Baptiste (groin), Thomas Strakosha (ankle), Vitaly Janelt (groin) and Charlie Goode (knee) are all ruled out.

Brentford’s Predicted XI:

Raya, Roerslev, Jorgensen, Mee, Pinnock, Henry, Jensen, Norgaard, Dasilva, Toney, Mbeumo

The bookies have made City the heavy favourites with Coral pricing them at 1/7 for the win. A draw is 17/2 with Sky Bet while a victory for Brentford is 19/1 at Betfair.

Predicted Score – 5-1 to City
