Premier League 2021/22: Man City favourites for title, Man United ranked fourth

The Premier League season is set to draw to a close after what has been another dramatic campaign, with twists and turns as well as continued disruption due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Attention will now shift towards the summer transfer window and the European Championship, with the hope that come August, when the 2011/22 season kicks off, stadiums will be back to full capacity.

That will be a momentous occasion as it would be almost 18 months since the terraces were packed, though there is still lots of uncertainty amid mutated strains of the virus.

Either way though, the battle will recommence on the field and Skybet has already issued their early Premier League odds for next season.

Manchester City are 8/13 favourites to retain their crown after snatching the trophy back off Liverpool this term, with Chelsea seen as their greatest threat followed by Liverpool and Manchester United.

Leicester City, Tottenham and Arsenal are outsiders, with another battle for European football fancied, while those fancying a lengthy punt can find Southampton at 500/1 and Wolves at 200/1.

At the other end of the table, newly-promoted Watford and Norwich City are expected to immediately face the prospect of relegation back to the Championship – with the same assessment likely to fall upon Brentford or Swansea City, depending on who wins the playoff final.

Outside of the new clubs, Crystal Palace’s situation is deemed to be bleak with Roy Hodgson set to leave his role and, despite a takeover, Burnley are also backed to face a battle – as well as Newcastle United.

Remarkably, Arsenal are priced at 50/1 for relegation and 80/1 to win the title – meaning that they’re seen as having more chance of dropping out of the top-tier for the first time in their history than they are to win a first league title since 2004.

Everton are in a similar boat while West Ham, Leeds and Aston Villa, despite successful campaigns this term, should be keeping a look over their shoulder, according to the odds.
