Spurs ‘could be tempted’ to sell Kane if Man City offer Jesus and more rumours

Tottenham may be tempted to sell Harry Kane to Manchester City if they offer Gabriel Jesus as a makeweight in a deal, according to reports.

With Sergio Aguero leaving the club this summer, City are on the hunt for a striker to replace their record goalscorer and the need for one became even more prevalent following Saturday’s Champions League final defeat to Chelsea in which they managed just one shot on target.

It’s understood that Erling Haaland is the top target but Kane could be an interesting option, with the England captain pushing to leave Spurs this summer after two years without Champions League football.

However, Daniel Levy is reluctant to let his best player leave, especially to a Premier League rival, and with three years remaining on Kane’s contract, he is in the commanding position.

The Tottenham chairman may be tempted into a deal if City are willing to offer Jesus in part exchange, though, if reports are to be believed.

The Daily Star claims that Spurs hold an interest in the Brazilian – who would be a direct replacement for Kane – and value him at £70million.

It’s reported that if the Blues offered Jesus plus a further £70m then that may be enough to land Kane, although the situation does depend on who Spurs hire as their next manager.

Pep Guardiola, meanwhile, is said to be reluctant to lose Jesus and would rather offer centre-back Nathan Ake instead.

Meanwhile, City are reportedly considering a u-turn to bring Aston Villa defensive-midfielder Douglas Luiz back to the club.

Guardiola was full of praise for Luiz when City were forced to sell him in 2019 due to work permit issues, and a buy-back clause was inserted into the deal.

90min report that City are now considering triggering the £25m clause to re-sign the Brazilian, with Atletico Madrid also interested.

M.E.N. Sport understands that Luiz is not currently a target for the club, however.
