Arsenal are weighing up a bid for Manchester City attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva, according to reports in England.
The Portuguese international is keen on leaving the Etihad Stadium, with the player said to be interested in moving to either Atletico Madrid or Barcelona, but the two Spanish clubs will struggle to raise the funds needed to sign the player.
With that in mind, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, who knows Silva well from his time at City, is hoping to persuade the Portuguese international into making the switch to the North London club. Supporters on Twitter don’t think the 26-year-old will be interested in the move:

He wants to leave because of the country, the weather and culture ect. It would make 0 sense if he went to a worse team in the same country

While fans may be sceptical about Silva leaving City for Arsenal, it could help Pep Guardiola’s side finance their move for Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
It’s highly unlikely that either Atletico or Barca will be able to afford the playmaker so if the Gunners do meet City’s asking price, it wouldn’t be the worst thing if he did leave for the Emirates.
