Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has vowed to continue looking for improvements in his team after signing a two-year contract extension with the Premier League champions.

Guardiola has guided the Citizens to four titles in the past five years, but the 51-year-old believes he can get more out of the squad he currently has at his disposal:

“I have the feeling we can do better. This is the reason I want to do more – the job is not done. We want more and I want more. We feel that. Still, we are in the process. If I feel it is done, the relations would remain forever, and another chapter for both sides will be taken. Simple as that.”

Those words will certainly be noted by the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham who have rarely gotten the better of Guardiola and his team since the Spaniard’s arrival in England six and a half years ago.

Of course, on the domestic front, City’s dominance can’t be improved upon by a significant degree but the ultimate goal for both Guardiola and the club is the Champions League.

It is the only gap on Guardiola’s CV since he arrived at the Etihad and he will be hoping to put that right this season.
