What channel is Man City vs Wycombe on? TV, live stream and team news

Manchester City will begin their defence of the League Cup on Tuesday as they face off against League One side Wycombe Wanderers.

Wycombe have started the season in good form and currently find themselves in fifth place in the third tier after suffering relegation from the Championship last term. On Saturday, they continued their promotion fight at home to Charlton, winning 2-1 despite a late fight-back from the London side.

Despite this, City are expected to cruise past their League One opposition due to their depth of quality. Pep Guardiola has a squad full of international players in need of game time after the Catalan coached named an unchanged lineup in three of City’s five Premier League fixtures.

Now that City are involved in cup competitions domestically, and on the continent, Guardiola will be able to make better use of his squad as he prepares to fight for four trophies this season.

With more names added this weekend to a growing list of injuries, City should hand first senior starts of the season to a selection of academy products.

Here are all the updates you need ahead of City’s first domestic cup fixture of the 2021/22 campaign.

Team news for City vs Wycombe

Guardiola is expected to rotate heavily in light of City’s current schedule.

On Saturday, Aymeric Laporte and John Stones missed the 0-0 draw against Southampton and look set not to feature on Tuesday. Nathan Ake will likely keep his place with the potential to be partnered by under-23 star Luke Mbete.

Expect starlets Cole Palmer and Liam Delap to start against Wycombe as they continue their rapid ascent into the thoughts of the boss of the senior side. Fernandinho will likely play some part to provide experience to a side that will be short on first-team minutes.

The jewel in the crown of City’s outstanding academy, Phil Foden, could make his first start of the season alongside a selection of young talents who view him as the shining example of how to break into the first team.
