Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson won’t feature in Brazil’s games against Chile and Bolivia this week after being struck down with a stomach bug, according to reports.
Gastroenteritis can take up to a week to recover from and, while most fans on Twitter expect him to be back when City return to action next month, some are worried about the news:

While it is not good to hear that Ederson will be sidelined, it is better that it happens now than in a couple of weeks’ time. City play Atletico Madrid and Liverpool twice in the space of eleven days so, as long as he’s available for those games, supporters shouldn’t be too worried.
In terms of the fitness of other City players, there are still some question marks over when Ruben Dias will make his comeback. Manager Pep Guardiola is hopeful of having the Portuguese international available again after the international break but he says they will be careful to ensure he isn’t brought back too soon. It is, therefore, too early to say whether he’ll return for the Liverpool clash.
