Manchester City have had a £100m offer for Harry Kane rejected by Tottenham, according to reports in the UK.
The Citizens’ bid was a club record, eclipsing the £63.6m they paid for Rodri in 2019, but despite their club making a massive statement by going after Kane, fans on Twitter are not excited:
Invest in Haaland

We don’t need Kane. He’s not a Pep player. We need speed, flexibility and workrate. Better off waiting for Haaland or I’d prefer Ollie Watkins to Kane

No it’s a waste of time and City are on to a hiding to nothing on this deal they will get loads of stick about buying big and he’s not worth the hassle, too expensive, too old, too injury prone

Don’t do it

We shouldn’t go for any more than 100 mil especially when we offering other players too, if spurs don’t accept the first bid we should just drop the deal instead of wasting time like the koulibaly deal and go for lukaku or isak

This will all depend on Kane’s reaction. This is defo happening if Kane pushes for a move but will take more money to get him.

We need to walk away from this deal

Haaland would literally be the same price maybe a bit more why they keep going after Kane

Lol 100m + Player for 28 year old player u got to be kidding me .. Its Just a Waste of a resources.. i would add +50m amd go for Haaland rather than doing this stupidity..

Haaland is probably 20m worth more than Kane
He’s 8 years younger

It seems City supporters have a number of misgivings. Kane’s age is one concern. The striker turns 28 in July and he is a lot older than another transfer target: Erling Haaland.
The England captain’s injury record appears to be another worry, with the forward having had a number of ankle injuries over the past few years. There are also question marks over whether he would fit into Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
All of these issues, combined with the fact that the cost of the transfer could spiral if the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea get involved, mean the signing has some major drawbacks.
